LSM Business School students visit London South Bank University
Over 30 LSM Business School’s graduates of CTH’s Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management visit London South Bank University on 30th June 2010.
LSM Business School’s graduates are eligible to apply for the MSc International Tourism and Hospitality Management Top Up degree at London South Bank University at Waterloo.
MSc International Tourism and Hospitality Management Top Up degree consist of a Dissertation (60 credits) and Research Methods (20 credits) modules.
The MSc will encourage an entrepreneurial approach to examining growth opportunities in tourism and hospitality businesses and destination management. It emphasises the management of strategic issues that arise in the sector, including marketing, business development, leadership, ethical and sustainability issues.
Research Methods Unit – consist of the following:
· Research Philosophies
· Research Approaches
· Planning an Innovative Research Project
· Executing a Research Project
o Innovative use of literature
o Quantitative and Qualitative Research Tools
o Analytical Skills
o Linking literature to results to reach sustainable conclusions
· Assessment is successfully completing Chapter 1 of your Dissertation
· 36 hours classroom teaching over 3 weeks
Dissertation – consist of the following:
· 20,000 word self managed, but supported, research project.
o Innovative subject matter
o Academically rigorous ( it is not a business plan or feasibility study)
o Has to have some form of management implication
The fees for the top up programme are:
Home and EU: £1675
Overseas: £2530
Start and Finish dates:
First intake is in January 2011 – and successful students can expect to graduate in July 2011
