Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Planning

The purpose of this module is to enable students to develop skills in strategic analysis and strategic planning.

The module also considers risk evaluation and management, as well as business ethics.

Assessment

Learning outcome 1

Weighting: 25%

Students are required to research and critically evaluate theories relating to business strategy. Students should give their results as a presentation.

Learning outcomes 2 & 3

Weighting: 75%

Students are required to carry out a strategic analysis and evaluation of a hospitality and tourism organisation.

Students must then identify and evaluate strategic options and prepare a strategic plan for the organisation. The strategic plan must include an assessment of the the risks to the plan.

Students should present the results of their investigation as a written assignment of no more than 5000 words.
